Arch 101 - Basic Design

Given: Opaque surface materials: 1mm cardboard ( in gray or black ) or corrugated cardboard Translucent surface materials: wire mesh, translucent acetate paper Stick materials: wooden sticks, metal wire ( in any thickness and cross-section) design a total number of seventeen interrelated volumes with varying qualities ( scale, proportion, surface qualities/material, permeability, accessibility, level of illumination etc. ) you need to follow some rules while designing: - you are required to one single cardboard element as a continuous surface that folds and bends throughout the design. -in addition to the cardboard, you are required to select and use at least three materials from the list given above. You are allowed to use the element made out of these materials in any size, number, and shape. - your design needs to occupy a total volume of approximately 60.000 cm ³  -your design should have excellent workmanship and stability.  My first work...

At that work, we designed a double-sided relief. Its mean is that there are two different relief on bottom and top view. These reliefs are maden by using same elements. In an other saying, there is only one layer for two side. When ı was designing, I took help from design principles. Both sides common principle is repetation and rhythm.  In this building there is a hierarchy between the windows. Also the red parts of this building create a contrast. The position and order of these chairs creates a rhythm. The space used in this building has been created figure-ground relationship. The door is the dominant element of the building because of it's size  Stone columns , stone walls and metal cladding created a color and texture contrast  the stones that cover the entire floor of the campus creates a pattern
